Hundreds of conversations with dentists, in practices, at conferences, in reply to this newsletter. Same question every time: what would actually help you on a normal day, between two patients?
And honestly, the answers weren't that varied. Three things kept coming back.
1. Building a good treatment sequence takes time. Which acts go together in one visit, in what order, with which healing delays. It's clinical judgment, and you redo it from scratch for every plan.
2. Almost nobody knows what they really earn per hour on a given plan. Not the fee schedule. The real number, chair time included.
3. Patients say yes to what they understand. And most treatment plans are still presented as a quote and a conversation, not something the patient can actually see.
For a long time, my answer to all three was the same: nobody has built that yet.
Well, there's finally an AI tool that does exactly this. It's called Aria, and the beta is now live and free for you.
You describe a treatment plan the way you'd dictate it to a colleague. Aria turns it into an optimized appointment sequence, shows you what the plan earns per hour of chair time, and builds the patient presentation: their mouth in 3D, the treatment step by step, with the price.
The fastest way to understand it is to use it for free, or watch the demo video. It takes about a minute.
Go to ariadental.io and paste this (or any plan of your own, in your own words):
Full-mouth cleaning. #5: crown removal, two-visit root canal, adhesive core build-up and a ceramic crown. Gum graft #5-#4. #8: extraction with bone graft and implant placement, screw-retained provisional, then the definitive ceramic crown. Ceramic veneer on #9.Everything below is what happens next.
Step 1: Enter the treatment plan
No forms, no dropdowns. You type (or dictate) the plan exactly the way you think it. Abbreviations, shorthand, tooth numbers: Aria reads clinical language.
Step 2: Answer the clarification questions
Before generating anything, Aria asks only the questions that actually change the sequence. Immediate or delayed implant? One-visit or two-visit endo? The things you'd specify to a colleague.
Aria never makes a clinical decision for you. It asks, or it follows what you wrote.
Step 3: Watch the sequence build itself
Aria generates the full appointment sequence: acts grouped the way an experienced clinician groups them, in the right order, with the healing delays between visits. It usually takes a couple minutes.
It's trained on sequences validated by practicing dentists, and it checks its own work: every act in your plan is accounted for, every delay is justified.
And right next to the sequence: the total, the chair time, and your revenue per hour for this plan. The real number.
Step 4: Make it yours, and watch the hourly rate move
This is the number the whole tool is built around. Your revenue per hour of chair time. The sequence Aria just generated is already optimized for it, so before you touch anything, you know exactly what this plan is worth per hour the way it's laid out.

Then the sequence is yours to edit. Merge two visits, move an act, adjust a delay. Each change updates the revenue per hour in real time.
Same plan, same fees, better use of your chair.
This is usually the moment it clicks.

Hourly rate according to how much you think you’re going to spend on that appointment

Hourly rate according to how much you think you’re going to spend on that appointment
One more thing here, and it's the part I like most: every change you make, Aria remembers. If you always do the core build-up in the same visit as the endo, or you give your grafts two weeks more than the textbook, the next sequence comes out your way from the start. You make the correction once.
After that, it's just how Aria works for you.
When the sequence looks right, you validate it in one click.
Step 5: Check the quote, validate it
The quote was generated with the sequence, so there's nothing to write. You go through it line by line, adjust what needs adjusting, and validate. That's it: sequence validated, quote validated, and the two match exactly because one is built from the other.

Step 6: Send it to the patient (or don't)
From here, you can stop. The plan is sequenced, priced, and ready for your records.
Or, in one click, the patient gets their own view of it: their mouth in 3D, the treatment step by step, what happens at each visit, and the quote, laid out clearly. It arrives as a secure link, protected by a verification code, and they can come back to it as many times as they want.

If you want, they can also accept the plan and pay right from there.
You already know this: transparency converts. Patients accept treatment they understand. I haven't seen another product make a treatment plan this clear for the person who actually has to say yes.

Patient’s view on phone
There's more, of course: patient payments, scheduling the visits one by one, following what happens after you hit send. But I don't want this email to get long, and what you just read is 90% of the value. The rest you'll find in ten minutes of playing with it.
That's the whole loop. Plan in. Sequence and quote out. Patient who understands.
